Considering getting your MBA? The JumpStart Path2MBA prepares undergraduate students and working professionals to engage directly with admissions officers at our MBA program partners.

Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Management was founded in the Vanderbilt University in 1969. In fact, the Economist ranked the Vanderbilt MBA as #5 for its ability to Open New Career Opportunities and the Financial Times ranked Vanderbilt’s MBA program #8 in the U.S. and #9 globally for careers services in 2019.

Learn about a Day in the Life of an MBA student through its Diversity Symposium and Discover Weekend. Engage with professors via class simulation; connect with staff from admissions or career services to receive guidance on applying, financial aid and job support; talk directly with students and alums about life during and after Owen; and participate in discussions focused on diversity and inclusion.

You’ll gain various perspectives the paths of pursuing an MBA, pre-matriculation to get an internship, and life as a first- and second-year MBA.

Jalen-Brown

Jalen Brown

Jalen joined the Owen community in 2023 as an Assistant Director and Lead Diversity Recruiter of MBA Recruiting and Admissions. In this role, Jalen serves as the primary point of contact for recruiting efforts for underrepresented minority students. He received a B.A. from Kentucky State University and holds an M.A.E. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Western Kentucky University. Prior to joining the Owen team, Jalen spent time as a Specialist for Diversity Recruitment at Western Kentucky University and worked within the university’s Intercultural Student Engagement Center. Jalen is also coming with experience working at the K-12 levels as a Family Resource and Youth Services coordinator. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, watching sporting events, and listening to/creating music.

Anthony Okolue

Anthony-Okolue-HeadshotAnthony Okolue is a Master of Business Administration candidate at the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, with a concentration in Marketing and a specialization in Healthcare and Operations. He currently serves as the Vice President of International Affairs for the Owen Student Government Association.

Prior to pursuing his MBA, Anthony worked as a National Sales Manager at Bellsbag Pharmaceuticals, where he developed and executed sales and marketing strategies that led to significant growth and exceeded sales targets. He also worked as a Territory Sales Manager for Sanofi, a Fortune 500 company, where he led cross-functional teams and implemented successful campaigns in the Thrombosis and Diabetic Care Portfolio.

Anthony’s experience also includes roles as a Logistics & Operations Associate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) project and as an Intern Pharmacist at the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control in Nigeria.

With a strong background in pharmacy, sales, and marketing, Anthony has developed a diverse skill set including performance improvement, process optimization, and data analysis. He is proficient in various software tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and holds certifications in AWS Cloud Computing and Infrastructure/Architecture.

Anthony will be spending the summer of 2024 as an intern at Ecolab in Naperville, Illinois, where he will apply his skills and gain further experience in a corporate setting.

Ranita Mufor

Ranita Mufor is a native French speaker from Cameroon with a background in supply chain and marketing. She has accumulated four years of experience across the hospitality, technology, e-commerce, and healthcare sectors. Her primary focus has been harnessing consumer data insights to enhance operations and refine strategies. For a decade, she served as the lead fundraiser for a non-profit organization. Currently, she is an MBA Candidate at Owen (Class of ’25), concentrating in operations, analytics, and strategy.
