Event Speakers

Ame Isoah pic

Ame Isoah

Ame Isoah is a second-year MBA student at Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management, concentrating in Operations and Strategy. Originally from Nigeria, Ame holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Benin and brings four years of professional experience across consumer goods and Banking.

Before Owen, she worked at one of West Africa’s largest CPG, then spent over two years at Standard Bank Group as a Payments Operations Supervisor in the Corporate and Investment Banking division. That role shaped his passion for operational excellence and leadership, which ultimately drove her decision to pursue an MBA.

This summer, she is interning at Citi within the Consumer Cards division. At Owen, Ame serves as Vice President of the Black Student Association and is a member of the Operations Club. In her first year, she served as a Recruiting and Admissions Fellow, acting as a useful resource for prospective students from around the world navigating the MBA application process.

Olabode (Bode) Ekerin

Olabode (‘Bode) Ekerin is a first-year MBA candidate at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, concentrating in Healthcare, Marketing, and Strategy with an emphasis in entrepreneurship. A physician by training, he brings about a decade of clinical and public health experience from Nigeria, including leading HIV programs across Lagos and Kaduna State.

At Owen, Bode has leaned fully into life beyond the classroom. With a strong entrepreneurial streak, he serves as a Venture Scout at the Vanderbilt Center for Entrepreneurship. He is also President of the Owen Black Students Association (OBSA), Co-VP of International Affairs for the Owen Student Government Association (OSGA), Social Innovation Programs Chair at the Center for Social Venture (CSV), and VP of Member Engagement at the Owen Christian Business Association. He additionally serves as a research assistant to faculty in both the business school and the School of Nursing.

This spring, he interned with Avinia Biotech, a Nashville-based biotech firm, as a Marketing and Business Development Intern, and this summer he will join Amazon as an Operations Manager intern through the Pathways program.

Outside of academics, Bode is an amateur photographer and a committed advocate for Black excellence and community advancement. He is passionate about global health, Nigerian institutional development, and harnessing the power of entrepreneurship and business to drive impact at scale.
