Path to Strategy Consulting at AMEX

Incoming MBA class of 2024,

In preparation for a Path to Strategy or Consulting, we are hosting a two Lunch & Learn virtual experiences featuring American Express’s strategy group.

Below you will see the feature experience with AMEX via JumpStart that your submissions and responses will be part of the process to be considered for participation in their sessions and 1-1s during JumpStart.

The Strategic Planning Group (SPG) is American Express’s enterprise strategy and internal consulting division. Our clients are top management who engage us to solve critical business challenges and provide thought leadership on medium to long-term strategic initiatives for the Company and our industry. Colleagues in SPG are exposed to an incredible breadth and depth of project assignments through the unique opportunity to work across all business lines.

As a Strategy consultant, like in management consulting, you will rotate through small project teams, providing you with a diverse experience, varied client interaction, and an opportunity to develop consulting and leadership skills. Your project teams will also provide you with the opportunity to build strong and lasting relationships across the team and provide meaningful and rewarding opportunities to see the impact of your solutions shape the Company’s growth. SPG serves as a key talent pool for American Express – many senior executives began their careers at American Express in SPG.

The well-established Summer Internship will provide high-performing MBA students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in projects that drive real impact for the company. Interns will meet business leaders from all levels and have a chance to learn about the culture and values of the organization as well as network across regions and functions.

During the JumpStart sessions, learn more about the company, context about careers, and recruiting guidance.

If you have not done so already, you will need to complete the Company interest survey AND register for the following Zoom sessions by Thursday, May 5th.

Sessions will NOT be recorded, and space is limited, so sign up on the Zoom Links below to indicate plans to participate.
